After valuable time in the wind tunnel and some track time at MIRA, the Formula 24+ racer was modified and ready for the race at Mallory Park.
The team had a nice and consistent start to the race averaging 25mph for the first hour. Unfortunately, an air lock in the radiator prevented the convection currents in the system and the motor overheated and lost power. Having to pull the car in to address the issue they lost 15 minutes in the pits as one of the radiator plugs had also popped out. A lucky replacement came in the form of a powerade bottle safety top! The team managed to get back out for the final 15 minutes but sadly the time they had lost put them to the back of the pack. Although being only 7 competitors in their class they think they may still have secured some championship points!
